A research study by IKEA has shown that in Serbia, 80% of children occasionally spend the night in their parent’s bed, indicating the importance of creating an environment where they feel safe and relaxed. Children’s rooms are more than just a space – they are a ‘window’ into the world of imagination, where children explore, learn, and have fun through play. In addition to play, peaceful sleep has a crucial role in their development and pre-bedtime rituals assist in shaping children’s independence.

Acknowledging the importance of these aspects, IKEA has created the SKOGSDUVA collection inspired by the magical forests of Sweden, designed to merge playtime with bedtime. The IKEA Play Report from 2024 showed that 95% of parents believe their child’s happiness is closely or partially related to the time they spend playing. Toys that spark children’s imagination are essential as children learn new skills best through play. The plush animals, play masks, and creative sets from the SKOGSDUVA collection are developed to stimulate children’s creativity and social skills development.

In 57% of households, parents are responsible for tidying up the children’s room. However, incorporating functional solutions for storage can teach children to organize their space independently and foster a sense of independence and responsibility. The SKOGSDUVA boxes and bags are designed to be functional and playful, turning the tidying of toys into a fun experience.

As the day progresses, it’s time for bathing. With a bit of imagination, this part of the day can also be interesting. After bathing, thanks to a soft hooded towel, a child can transform into a small lynx, continuing to play even in preparation for sleep. Brushing teeth, wearing pajamas, and going to bed become small rituals filled with fun. These rituals guide the youngest towards quality sleep and help them understand the value of rest.

The SKOGSDUVA collection provides plush toys that provide a sense of security for children who are afraid of the dark or separation from their parents. The decoration inspired by the Scandinavian forest creates a calming atmosphere and encourages lovely bedtime stories. As a result, the children’s room becomes a place where play and sleep blend into perfect harmony, nurturing their creativity, providing safety, and enabling them to grow and achieve their potentials.
