The UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) hosted a significant event under the slogan “Play Responsibly, Play for Humanity”. This event, adapting the basic theme of EXPO 2027 Belgrade “Play for Humanity”, focuses on promoting the green agenda and sustainable development. The main architect of EXPO 2027 mentioned that the project aims to make a long-term contribution to the protection of the environment.
This event was held in the pavilion of the host country, Azerbaijan, which offered the stage for the event because of the friendship between its President Ilham Aliyev and the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić. State Secretary of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Sara Pavkov, emphasized the importance of global cooperation to achieve sustainable development goals.
The participation of EXPO 2027 in the Summit of World Leaders during COP29, which gathered more than 70 world leaders and government representatives from various parts of the world, offers an exceptional opportunity to present Serbia as a country committed to sustainable development. The country intends to integrate sustainable practices into the organization of EXPO 2027, which will also drive meaningful changes in environmental awareness at regional and global levels. Serbia aims not only at modernization and development but also at implementing best practices in the field of environmental protection.
The presentation of the green agenda of EXPO 2027 in the context of COP29, a globally-relevant event addressing climate change, highlights Serbia’s role as an innovator in the field of sustainability. This helps not only to boost the country’s international reputation but also provides a platform for further investments and cooperation in sectors that support the green economy and environmentally responsible technologies.
Serbia is positioning itself as an important global player in solving one of the most pressing world challenges, thereby simultaneously improving the quality of life within the country and beyond.
